Agreement and authority

These Terms of Service govern access to the PricesAPI website, dashboard, APIs and related features. By creating an account, using an API key or otherwise using PricesAPI, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you use PricesAPI for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

PricesAPI provides product-search, merchant-offer, catalogue-refresh and management tools using public retail web sources and our processing systems. Features, supported markets, response fields, limits and documentation may evolve.

You are responsible for deciding whether returned data is suitable for your use and for complying with laws, marketplace terms and third-party rights that apply to your product.

Accounts and API keys

Provide accurate account and billing information and keep it current.
Keep passwords and API keys confidential. You are responsible for requests made with your credentials until you notify us of compromise.
Do not share an account or API key between unrelated organisations without our written approval.
Contact support@pricesapi.io promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

Acceptable use

You may use PricesAPI for legitimate pricing intelligence, e-commerce, research and product features. You must not:

bypass authentication, quotas, rate limits, access controls or technical safeguards;
probe or interfere with the security, availability or operation of PricesAPI or another customer's account;
use the service for unlawful, deceptive, abusive or rights-infringing activity;
resell access to PricesAPI as though it were your own API without our written agreement; or
use automated traffic in a way that materially exceeds your plan or harms other customers.

You may incorporate PricesAPI responses into your own application or analysis, subject to these Terms and any rights that apply to the underlying source data.

Plans, credits and billing

Current plan inclusions and prices are shown on the pricing page or in a written order agreed with us.
A Search response consumes one credit only when it returns at least one product. A cache hit follows the same billing rule. Empty results and 4xx or 5xx responses do not consume a credit.
Schedule management calls—creating, listing, editing, pausing or removing a Schedule—and background scheduled refreshes use no API credits. A later customer-initiated Search that returns at least one product follows normal billing. There is no separate scheduling fee.
New Personal accounts receive the one-time trial allowance shown when they sign up; it does not renew. Paid-plan credits reset with the applicable Stripe billing period, and unused paid credits do not roll over unless a written order says otherwise.
Paid subscriptions renew monthly through Stripe until cancelled. You authorise the recurring charge shown when you subscribe.
You can cancel through the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then unless the account is suspended for cause.

Our voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee applies to the initial purchase of a paid self-service plan. Ask support@pricesapi.io within 14 days of that purchase. This guarantee is in addition to statutory rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law; those rights are not excluded by these Terms.

Schedules and beta features

Schedules is a Beta feature for daily or weekly recurring catalogue discovery with global coverage. It uses the same Search contract and canonical production path as customer-initiated Search. Published frequencies describe the requested cadence, not a guaranteed completion time.

Schedules and other features labelled beta, preview or experimental may change, pause, produce incomplete results or be withdrawn. Use them with appropriate monitoring and do not rely on them as the sole source for a safety-critical or time-critical decision.

Service and data limitations

Retail pages, merchants, networks and extraction formats change. Results may be delayed, stale, incomplete, duplicated, unavailable or incorrect. PricesAPI does not guarantee that every merchant, product, price, currency, availability state or update will be found.

The service is provided on a commercially reasonable, best-effort basis unless a separate written order includes an express service level. Scheduled maintenance, provider failures, abuse controls and events outside our reasonable control can interrupt access.

You should validate important data, retain appropriate fallbacks and use timestamps and response metadata when making business decisions.

Customer inputs and returned data

You retain rights in the queries, configurations and other content you submit. You give us permission to process them as needed to provide, secure, support and improve PricesAPI and as described in the Privacy Policy.

Product and pricing information is derived from public retail sources. We do not transfer ownership of a merchant's content or intellectual property. You are responsible for how you store, combine, publish or redistribute returned data.

Suspension and termination

We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address non-payment, a material breach, security risk, unlawful use or harm to PricesAPI, its providers or other customers. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

You may stop using the service at any time and cancel a paid subscription through the portal. Sections that by their nature should survive—such as payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits and dispute terms—continue after termination.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, PricesAPI is provided without implied guarantees of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free data. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, PricesAPI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost profit, lost revenue, lost data or business interruption arising from use of or inability to use the service. Where liability can lawfully be limited, our aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid PricesAPI in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

If a non-excludable guarantee applies and the law permits a remedy to be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the reasonable cost of having it supplied again.

Changes to the service or Terms

We may change PricesAPI or these Terms as the product, law or operating environment changes. We will publish an updated date and provide reasonable additional notice for a material change. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the service and cancel before the next renewal.
